With two major wine events, the Easter following
week end will be particularly festive in Strasburg :
• The Grands Concours du monde
• The Salon des Grands Cépages Blancs
(White Grape Varieties)
Strasburg will be the World
City of White Grape Varieties
From the 6th to the 7th
of April.
The Grands Concours du Monde :
The Palais des Congrès will host the concours Riesling du monde (16th Edition), Pinot Gris du monde (8th Edition), Gewurztraminer
du monde (6th Edition) and Sylvaner du monde (1st Edition).
80 international and professional jurors coming from 16 countries will gather to taste one of the best wines in the world.
The Great Gold Medals, which reward the wines with notations above 92 points, will be announced live from the Trade Show of
the Grands Cépages Blancs on Sunday at 4.30 pm in the PMC .
Entry deadline for wine producers who wish to present their wines in the competitions : 9th March 2013
The 1st Edition of the Salon des Grands Cépages Blancs :
Riesling – Sylvaner – Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer won’t have secrets for visitors anymore !
70 winemakers have already confirmed their participation !
Numerous activities will dynamize the Trade Show :
• Culinary shows orchestrated by « Les Etoiles d’Alsace »
• Discovering of the association « Les DiVINes d’Alsace »
• Presentation of « La Cave Historique des Hospices de Strasbourg »
• Oenological activities by « La Tribu des Gourmets du Vin d’Alsace »
• Booth of the « République du Weinland »
• Culinary Book shop and signing sessions
• Exhibition « L’Oenothèque des Grands Concours du monde »
The visitors will have the opportunity to meet not less than 10 exhibitors and above all to taste their gastronomic products ;
• Cyrille Lhoro, Cheese maker, Meilleur Ouvrier de France
• Mireille Oster, Fine pain d’épices (gingerbread)
• La Ferme Schmitt, foies gras according to the Alsacian gastronomic tradition
• La Boutique du Champignon, (The Mushroom Shop) … are one of our gastronomic guests on the fair.
No limit to share those little but exceptional pleasur es during the whole day ! Do not miss that appointment !
