Per Decanter Alta Langa è il miglior metodo classico d’Italia

Le Alte Bollicine Piemontesi guidano in solitaria la classifica “Premium Italian Sparkling Wines – Metodo Classico “

Ottime posizioni per i vini Alta Langa Docg nella classifica Premium Italian Sparkling Wines – Metodo Classico pubblicata sul numero di luglio 2020 della rivista inglese Decanter.
Due vini Alta Langa infatti guidano in solitaria la classifica: Millesimato Brut Alta Langa 2016 di Deltetto e Millesimato Extra Brut Alta Langa 2016 di Marcalberto, entrambi con 95 punti.

Il panel, costituito dai giudici Andrea Briccarello, Michael Garner e Anthony Rose, ha analizzato vini metodo classico provenienti da Piemonte, Lombardia, Veneto, Trentino, Emilia Romagna, Puglia e Sicilia.

 

Questi i numeri :

Traditional-method sparkling: Italy’s top-tier regions

Franciacorta 2,902ha; nearly 18 million bottles; DOC since 1967, promoted to DOCG in 1995

Trento 1,012ha; almost 9m bottles; DOC since 1993

Oltrepò Pavese 122ha; less than 500,000 bottles; DOC since 1970, promoted to DOCG in 2007

Alta Langa 106ha; a little more than 500,000 bottles; DOC since 2002, promoted to DOCG in 2011

Si legge nell’articolo: “I giudici hanno apprezzato la qualità e la coerenza degli spumanti metodo classico d’Italia (…), l’Alta Langa piemontese è stata definita da Michael Garner come una regione a cui guardare”.

Dei 95 vini degustati, solo i due Alta Langa sono stati giudicati “Outstanding” (punteggi tra 95 e 97).

Commenta Giulio Bava, presidente del Consorzio Alta Langa: “Accogliamo con grande interesse il risultato della degustazione di Decanter: il nostro Consorzio sta lavorando per la qualità e questi segnali confermano la crescita costante della denominazione. Accanto ai numeri – ettari di vigneto, produttori, referenze, bottiglie prodotte complessivamente – crescono autorevolezza e notorietà”.

  • 125 soci (90 vigneron e 35 case spumantiere)
  • 314 ettari di vigneto (145 in provincia di Cuneo, 142 in provincia di Asti, 27 in provincia di Alessandria) non tutti ancora in produzione -> diventeranno 350 nel 2021.
  • Il vigneto Alta Langa è coltivato per 2/3 Pinot nero e per 1/3 Chardonnay
  • 2.500.000 kg di uva prodotta dalla vendemmia 2019
  • 2.000.000 di bottiglie prodotte dalla vendemmia 2019
  • Mercato interno: 95%
  • Export: 5%
